Vegan Product Review : Rebel Kitchen MYLK Coffee Flavour

A couple of weeks ago, I went to a vegan coffee morning at one of my local vegan cafes. I was extremely excited. But when I sat down, it just seemed to be a whole load of people eating cake and talking only to the people they came with!

I ordered a green tea and after a while, I got bored of my own company and went to browse the refrigerator, that's when I spotted this....
The design of the bottle was so intriguing, with all the dark illustrations it reminded me of work from a tattoo artist.
I have to admit I have never ordered a milk out or milkshake, nor have I have I ever tried cold coffee so this was a real jump in at the deep end for me. The cafe was selling it for £2.50 but I noticed a couple of weeks after Holland and Barrett sell it for £1.99

There are only four ingredients, spring water, organic coconut milk, organic date nectar and organic coffee. Making it dairy free, vegan, organic, nut free, gluten free and free from refined sugars, GMOs, preservatives and additives.

In terms of nutrition per 100ml, there is, 46kcal, 2.2g of fat and 5.6g of sugars. However, I would like to point out that the fat comes from coconut milk and the sugar is from date nectar.

Before drinking, I would advise (as it does on the bottle) to give it a good shake as just like most coconut milk little bits can collect near the surface.

I found the drink very refreshing and less sickly than I anticipated. It is quite thin in texture considering it is made from coconut milk, yet still creamy.
Both the coconut and coffee are prominent so the date Overall it was incredibly soothing in the mild heat and I would definitely recommend it for a hot day in summer.
